I joined SpaceX as an engineering intern for the Spring and Summer of 2017.  I was part of the Vehicle Engineering Stage Valve Team which was a small group of engineers who were responsible for all the custom in-house designed valves for the RP-1 and LOX tanks on the Falcon Rocket. My main project was re-designing the Stage 2 Fuel Tank Relief Valve to meet new specifications for the Falcon Heavy Rocket. I took my designs from the concept stage to CAD to prototype to qualification and final production. During this internship, I gained experience designing high precision parts for manufacturing and exposure to a fast paced engineering environment.
